Anti-puce pipettes, anti-tic based on fipronil for very large dog from 40 to 60 kg.
From 2 months.
Product equivalent to Frontline, Clement Thékan Fiprokil, Fyperix.

Indications:
In dogs 40 to 60 kg:
Treatment of chip infestations (Ctenocephalides spp.).

Insecticide efficacy prevents any new infestation by chips for 6 weeks.
The drug can be integrated into a treatment program for Dermatitis by Allergy to Piqûres de Puces (DAPP), when this diagnosis was made by a veterinarian.
Although the product does not always show immediate acaricide efficiency ( ticks can be present after 48 hours), it has a persistent acaricide activity up to 4 weeks against Dermacentor variabilis and up to 3 weeks against Rhipicephalus sanguineus.

Instructions for use:
Administration path and dosage:
For local skin application only.External use exclusively.
Animals must be accurately weighed before treatment.
A pipette of 4.02 mL allows the treatment of a dog weighing between 40 and 60 kg;which corresponds to a recommended minimum dose of 6.7 mg of fipronil per kg of body weight.
In dogs over 60 kg, use two pipettes of 2.68 mL.
The minimum interval between two applications should not be less than 4 weeks.

For a safe application:
Detach one of the platelets. This prevents the accidental opening of the rest of the plate that protects the pipettes that are still uninitiated from moisture.Open the pan with scissors. To not damage the pipette, cut according to the line marked by a pair of scissors.Delicately remove the foil from the cut end and remove the pipette.
Keep the pipette vertically.Slightly tap the pipette to bring down all the liquid content in the body of the pipette.Cast off the part above the pipette backwards. The pipette can now be tilted, if necessary. To open the pipette, break the tip by folding it dryly at the prediscovered line.
Spread the hair between the shoulder blades so that the skin is visible.Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and press the pipette several times to completely empty it from its contents directly to the skin and in one or two points.
The application of the solution near the base of the head allows to limit the risk that the animal licks the solution.Ensure that animals do not lick between them after treatment.
Care will be taken to avoid too much wetling with the product, as it would result in an aspect of sticky hair at the treated place. If so, however, this aspect would disappear within 24 hours of the application.

Composition:
A pipette of 4.02 mL contains:
Active substance(s):
Fipronil ..............................................402,000 mg
Excipient(s):
Butylhydroxyanisole (E 320) ...................0,804 mg
Butylhydroxytoluene (E 321) ...................0,402 mg.

Against indications:
Do not use in puppies less than 2 months and/or less than 2 kg, in the absence of available data.

Do not use in rabbits because sometimes lethal adverse effects may occur.
This veterinary drug was developed specifically for dogs.Do not use in cats to avoid overdose.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or one of the excipients.

Adverse effects:
In the event of drying, a brief episode of hypersalivation can be observed, mainly related to the nature of the solvent.
Among the adverse effects, very few cases of transient skin reaction to the application site (desquamation, local alopecia, prurit, erythema) as well as generalized prurit or alopecia were reported after use.
Very rarely, hypersalivation, reversible neurological symptoms (hyperesthesia, depression, nervous symptoms), vomiting or respiratory signs were observed after use.

The frequency of adverse effects is defined using the following convention:
-Very common (undesirable effects in more than 1 in 10 animals during treatment)
-Frequent (between 1 and 10 animals out of 100)
-Few (between 1 and 10 animals per 1,000)
– Rare (between 1 and 10 animals out of 10,000)
-Very rare (less than one in 10,000 animals, including isolated cases).

Individual Guards:
(i)Specific Precautions of Employment in Animals
Do not use this veterinary drug in dogs weighing less than 40 kg.
It is important to ensure that the product is applied to an area where the animal cannot lick.Ensure that animals that have just been treated do not lick between them.
Avoid any contact with the animal’s eyes.In the event of accidental contact of the veterinary drug with the eyes, wash immediately and thoroughly with water.
11Do not apply the veterinary drug to wounds or skin lesions.
It is possible that a few ticks remain attached. The risk of transmission of infectious diseases cannot therefore be totally excluded if conditions are unfavourable.

(ii)Specific information to be taken by the person administering the veterinary drug to animals
This product can cause irritation of mucous membranes and eyes. Therefore, any contact of the product with the mouth and eyes should be avoided.

In case of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse immediately and abundantly with water. If the eye irritation persists, immediately ask a doctor for advice and show him the notice or labelling.
Avoid contact with your fingers. In case of contact, wash your fingers immediately with water and soap.
Wash your hands after use.
Do not smoke, drink or eat during the application of the product.
People with known hypersensitivity to fipronil or one of the excipients should avoid contact with this veterinary drug.
Do not manipulate treated animals and do not allow children to play with treated animals until the application site is dry.It is therefore recommended not to treat animals during the day but rather at the beginning of the evening. In addition, it is advisable not to let treated animals sleep with their masters, especially children.
Keep the pipettes in the original packaging and immediately throw the pipettes used.

(iii) Other precautions
Do not allow dogs to swim in water courses within 2 days of application (see “Special Precautions to be taken in the disposal of unused drugs or wastes derived from the use of these drugs”).

Use in case of gestation, lactation or deck:
Laboratory studies on fipronil did not highlight teratogenic or embryotoxic effects. No study on this drug was conducted in females during the breastfeeding period or gestation. The use of the product during gestation or lactation will only take place after evaluation of the benefit/risk report by the attending veterinarian.

Overdose:
The toxicity of the veterinary drug applied to the skin is very low.The risk of adverse effects (see “Undesirable Effects” section) can however increase in overdose, which means that animals must always be treated with the size of pipette corresponding to their weight.
Specific studies on the safety of the product after repeated administration or overdose were not conducted, as the toxicological profile of the active substance and excipients is known.
