For dog. Active vermifuge against roundworms and flatworms, acts in a single dose.
Small tablet, meat flavor.
Dogs over 5 Kilograms.
Product equivalent to Milbemax, , Milbactor, , Milprazikan and Milprazin.

Directions:
In dogs over 5 kilograms:
Treatment of mixed infestations with adult cestodes (tapeworms) and nematodes (roundworms) of the following species:

Cestodes:
Dipylidium caninum
Taenia spp.
Echinococcus spp.
Mesocestoides spp.

Nematodes :
Ancylostoma caninum,
Toxocara canis,
Trichuris vulpis,
Thelazia callipaeda (see specific treatment programs under the heading “Posology and route of administration”),
Crenosoma vulpis (Reduction of the degree of infestation),
Angiostrongylus vasorum (Reduction in the degree of infestation with immature adult (L5) and adult stage parasites; see specific treatments and disease prevention programs under “Dosage and route of administration”).

Usage tips :
Oral route. Minimum recommended dose: 0.5 milligrams of milbemycin oxime and 5 milligrams of praziquantel per kilogram of body weight, given as a single oral dose.

The product should be administered during or after the meal.
The tablets are meat flavored and easy to administer (usually dogs and puppies will take them voluntarily, even without food).

Depending on the weight of the dog, the dose to be administered is as follows:

Weight Tablets
5 to 25 kilograms = 1 tablet
25 to 50 kilograms = 2 tablets
50 to 75 kilograms = 3 tablets
In cases where prevention of heartworm disease is useful and at the same time treatment against cestodes is necessary, the product can replace a monovalent product intended for the prevention of heartworm disease.

For the treatment of Angiostrongylus vasorum infestations, administer milbemycin oxime 4 times at weekly intervals. When concomitant treatment against cestodes is indicated, it is recommended to administer the product once and then to continue treatment for the remaining three weeks with a monovalent product containing milbemycin oxime.
In endemic areas, if concomitant treatment against tapeworms is indicated, administration of the product every 4 weeks can prevent angiostrongyliasis by reducing the parasite load in immature adults (L5) and in adults.

For the treatment of Thelazia callipaeda infestations, milbemycin oxime should be administered in two separate courses of 7 days. If concomitant treatment against cestodes is indicated, the medicinal product can replace the monovalent product containing milbemycin oxime alone.

Properties :
Milbemycin oxime belongs to the group of macrocyclic lactones, produced by the fermentation of Streptomyces hygroscopicus var. aureolacrimosus. It is active against mites, the larval and adult stages of nematodes and against the larvae of Dirofilaria immitis.
The activity of milbemycin is linked to its action on neurotransmission in invertebrates: milbemycin oxime, like avermectins and other milbemycins, increases, in nematodes and insects, the membrane permeability to chloride ions via the chloride channels glutamate- dependent (related to GABAA and glycine receptors in vertebrates). This results in hyperpolarization of the neuromuscular membrane and flaccid paralysis and death of the parasite.

Praziquantel is an acetylated derivative of pyrazino-isoquinoline. Praziquantel is active against cestodes and trematodes. It modifies the membrane permeability to calcium (Ca2+ influx) in the parasite, which causes an imbalance of the membrane structures and leads to membrane depolarization, practically instantaneous muscle contractions (cramps) and rapid vacuolization of the integumentary syncytium, responsible decomposition of the integument (blisters). This facilitates elimination in the gastrointestinal tract or leads to the death of the parasite.

One film-coated tablet contains:
Active substance(s):
Milbemycin oxime ……………………… 12.5 milligrams
Praziquantel ………………………………. 125.0 milligrams

Contraindications:
Do not use in dogs weighing less than 5 kilograms.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance(s) or to any of the excipients.

Side effects :
In very rare cases, systemic (such as lethargy), neurological (such as muscle tremors and ataxia) and/or gastrointestinal (such as vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia) symptoms and salivation) may be observed after administration of the veterinary medicinal product.

Special Warnings:
* Special warnings for each target species:
It is recommended to seek the advice of a professional for the implementation of an effective worm control program, which takes into account the epidemiological context and the living conditions of the dog.
Parasite resistance to a particular class of anthelmintic may develop following frequent and repeated use of an anthelmintic of that class.

* Special precautions for use in animals:
Studies performed with milbemycin oxime indicate that the margin of safety in some Collie dogs or related canine breeds is lower than in other breeds. In these dogs, the recommended dosage should be strictly adhered to.
The tolerance of the product in young puppies of these breeds has not been studied.
Clinical signs in Collies are similar to those observed in dogs of other breeds subjected to an overdose.
In accordance with good veterinary practice, animals should be weighed to ensure accurate dosing.
Treatment of dogs with large numbers of circulating microfilariae may sometimes result in the development of hypersensitivity reactions such as pale mucous membranes, vomiting, tremors, labored breathing or excessive salivation. These reactions are associated with the release of proteins from dead or dying microfilariae and are not a direct toxic effect of the product. The use of the product in dogs suffering from microfilaraemia is therefore not recommended.

In areas affected by heartworm disease or when it is known that a dog has been or is going to go to a risk area, a veterinary examination is recommended before using the product, to exclude the presence of any infestation. concomitant with Dirofilaria immitis. In the event of a positive diagnosis, adulticidal therapy is indicated before administration of the product.

Echinococcosis poses a danger to humans. In the event of echinococcosis, specific protocols for the treatment, monitoring and protection of people must be followed. It is then advisable to consult an expert or a parasitology center. If the dog has been in an area where Echinococcus spp is prevalent, consult a veterinarian.

No studies have been conducted in dogs that are severely debilitated or have significant renal or hepatic impairment. The product is not recommended in these cases or only after evaluation of the benefit/risk ratio by the veterinarian.

In dogs less than 4 weeks old, tapeworm infestations are rare. Treatment of animals under 4 weeks of age with a combination product may not be necessary.

* Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals:
Wash hands after use.
In the event of accidental ingestion of tablets, particularly by children, seek medical advice immediately and show the carton or package leaflet to the doctor.

* Use in case of pregnancy, lactation or laying:
In a study, this combination of active substances was shown to be well tolerated in breeding bitches, including during pregnancy and lactation. As no specific study has been carried out with this product, the use of the product during pregnancy or lactation should be subject to a benefit/risk assessment by the veterinarian.

* Overdose:
In case of overdose, no other symptoms than those observed at the recommended dose have been observed.

Our advice:
Puppy and kitten deworming schedule:
up to 2 months: twice a month
from 2 to 6 months: once a month
From 6 months: twice a year for indoor animals, 4 times a year for those with access to the outside and 6 times a year for animals in an echinococcosis zone.

Protecting your animal also means protecting its environment, but also its family and especially its children.

Do not forget to deworm a few days before any vaccination. Intestinal worms disrupt the immune system and alter the effectiveness of the vaccine.

After a deworming, it is possible that your animal is disturbed at the digestive level. This is often a sign that your pet was infested and is in the process of
to eliminate worms. We may recommend that you use an antiemetic before administering the dewormer.
