Correct injection technique is essential to avoid any risk of intradermal or intramuscular injections, as well as for optimal administration into the subcutaneous tissue and to avoid complications, such as lipodystrophies.
Short pen needles reduce the risk of accidental injections into the muscle that can lead to severe hypoglycemia.1,2
4 mm and 5 mm needles simplify the injection technique. Injections can be administered at a 90-degree angle without a skin tuck (in some thin children, adolescents, and adults, skin tucking may be necessary).¹
